12 Inspiring Modern Farmhouse Designs for the Perfect Kitchen
The modern farmhouse trend has officially taken over North America and I’m not complaining! The farmhouse style is a favorite of mine. I love the casual feeling of being in a space that is a little bit modern and a little bit rustic. Today I’m giving you a rundown on my top 12 favorite modern farmhouse kitchens that are guaranteed to inspire your next remodel.
1. RECLAIMED WOOD WALL
How Gorgeous is the reclaimed wood wall in this modern farmhouse kitchen by Old Seagrove Homes. The perfect contrast between modern white cabinets and a rustic wood accent wall creates a timeless kitchen.
2. WOOD BEAMS
Who doesn’t love a good old exposed beam? The rough and raw element these rafters bring to this kitchen by Studio Mcgee is pure genius. I love the mix of old and new. Check out the before and after photos here.
3. POP OF PINK
This farmhouse kitchen by Nest of Posies combines the perfect amount of rustic, modern, and a pop of color. The white subway tile combined with a smooth marble counter top contrasts with the rustic wood floor and floating shelves. How adorable is the display of pink dishes? They pop so well against the white wall and provide a much needed personal touch.
4. FULL ON FARMHOUSE
There is SO much I love about this modern farmhouse kitchen renovation by Home Made Lovely. Like seriously. The ship-lap, the butcher block counter tops, the ‘Gather’ sign, the farmhouse track lighting AND that adorable wreath. This kitchen should be the poster child for all farmhouse kitchens. Check out the full renovation with before and after photos here.
5. SMALL KITCHEN, BIG STYLE
This kitchen is proof that small spaces can be huge on style. Everything has been painted white, which I love because it really opens up the space. There are a few subtle accents that bring a bit of farmhouse style to this kitchen. The vintage wooden cutting boards hanging on the wall become a focal point, and are complemented well by the little burlap storage basket sitting atop the fridge.
6. COUNTRY FARMHOUSE KITCHEN
If you’re not following Three Twenty Style on Instagram you better head on over and check out their feed. They have mastered farmhouse decor and their kitchen is decked out to the max. I can’t get over that wood wrapped hood fan against a ship-lap back splash. And the oh so country farmhouse chicken wire cabinet doors just complete the look. If you’re looking for a true country kitchen for some inspiration I would start here.
7. THE ALL WHITE MODERN FARMHOUSE KITCHEN
I have to admit I’m still a HUGE sucker for an all white kitchen and this one by So Much Better With Age is a beauty. The clean white counter tops with the subway tile running to the ceiling is a true show stopper. This kitchen is mostly modern with a small touch of farmhouse. The rustic clock, the school house style brass hardware, and the apron sink really give the kitchen that farmhouse touch. And ANOTHER kitchen with vintage cutting boards! Is this a thing? Do I need one? Where can I get my hands on some?
8. MODERN FARMHOUSE TILE KITCHEN FLOORING
I am SO in love with this kitchen by Cortney Bishop Design. She pulled off a bold use of black and white so effortlessly with the patterned tile pulling the whole space together. And how gorgeous is that black and white farmhouse tile? Love love love this kitchen.
9. CHICKEN WIRE KITCHEN
Diane Keaton’s new kitchen is so farmhouse I can almost hear chickens clucking. Reclaimed wood beams and gigantic skylights are my favorite parts of this kitchen. All the chicken wire and massive amounts of galvanized metal really solidify the farmhouse style while the over sized kitchen island puts a little bit of modern into the mix.
10. SHIPLAP HOOD FAN
I love a good hood fan, and let me tell you Sita Montgomery designed a great one. The shiplap hood fan with rustic wood accents and matching floating shelves look absolutely stunning against the white painted brick back splash. Click here to see the whole kitchen and dining room, I’m dying for you to see the gorgeous view this kitchen has.
11. TWO TONED MODERN FARMHOUSE KITCHEN
Incorporating a contrasting wood finish into your kitchen is a great way to get the farmhouse look. Park and Oak did just that in this modern farmhouse kitchen. The kitchen island becomes the focus and it really pops against the white kitchen and farmhouse patterned tile flooring. Two toned kitchens are another HUGE trend right now, I wrote a whole blog post about it here.
12. A TIMELESS MODERN FARMHOUSE KITCHEN
How beautiful is this kitchen from Clark & Co Homes? I love everything from the black cabinets to the iron hood fan and the brass accents of the lighting and hardware. The ship lap and that oh so classic farmhouse X on the cabinet doors and kitchen island are details that will keep this Modern farmhouse kitchen current for years to come.
