FIVE WAYS TO TRANSFORM YOUR LIVING ROOM UNDER $100

Hello, my name is Brianna and I am an interior decor addict. Although not diagnosed I believe I suffer from a rare case of interior boredom, always feeling the need to re-decorate my home. About three months after making a large purchase for my living room (that piece of art above my couch that retails for about $700) I just need something new. Decorating (and re-decorating) your home can be freaking expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! I’ve compiled a list of five things that will transform your space and cure your interior boredom for under $100. Yeah, you heard me, you can completely change your living room for under $100.

1. RUGS

Rugs add pattern, comfort, and texture to your living room, they can even help ground furniture and define the space. Any designer will tell you that bigger is better when it comes to rugs, but even a small 5′ x 8′ area rug will add that little pop your living room is missing. I’ve found 4 rugs on Wayfair in a variety of styles that are guaranteed to give you huge bang for your buck.

2. PILLOWS

Pillows must be the easiest way to add a little punch to your living room. There are endless options out there and even thousands of tutorials on how to sew your own pillows. Hands down accent pillows are my go-to when I need to change things up quick. Although I usually buy fabric and sew my own pillows, Etsy is a fantastic resource for pillow hunters. Styles tend to sell out quick but shops update their items regularly. I’ve picked my top Etsy pillow sources below, most of the time you can even get two pillows for under $100.

3. PLANTS

Plants are an excellent way to revive your living room. They bring so much life and color into the home, and who doesn’t love watching them grow? Plants are reasonably priced (you could grow a whole plant family with a $100 budget) but there quite a few plants that, once you buy one, you can propagate endlessly. This is quite easy to do with succulents, just do a quick search on Pinterest and you can read all about it. Tall indoor trees can be quite expensive and end up running you over $200, however if you buy a young sapling and are willing to put in the effort to grow it you can save a ton of money. I bought my fiddle leaf fig tree at Home Depot for under $20 and it’s now 5′ tall. Ikea is a super easy place to pick up tall trees for your living room. You will have to sort through their selection because some might be in pretty bad shape, but they are quite inexpensive and with a little TLC you will have a new green buddy in your home for years.

4. POUFS

Poufs, those mini upholstered ottomans you see scattered across peoples living rooms, are a great accessory to have in your home. They can act as a footrest, side table, and even extra seating when you have guests over. Talk about multi functional! Ideal for apartments and small spaces where seating in the living room is limited. These little guys can easily be tucked away when they are not in use (but trust me, you’ll always be using them) I’ve rounded up my top 6 poufs, all under $100.

5. END TABLES

End tables are pretty much an essential furniture piece in every living room, solving storage issues and providing a surface to place lamps, accessories and more!
