While these modern farmhouse paint combinations might look great on your screen, remember to always test a sample area on your home before committing to the whole house. Paint colors can change drastically depending on the amount of light/shade, and the material you are painting on.

Black On Black Modern farmhouse Exterior

Western Charcoal | Onyx Black | Estate Limestone

This modern farmhouse beauty by M House Development is a total showstopper. The black siding with black window trims are so daring. I wish I was brave enough to pull this look off. Check out M House Developments Instagram page, they are totally crushing the modern farmhouse trend in a big way.

Modern English Farmhouse

Satin Black | Blanca Peak | Onionskin Tan

Talk about sophisticated! This modern ‘English’ style farmhouse, designed by Kate Marker, is absolutely stunning. I love the over sized shutters with a classic farmhouse wood pattern. The dark shutters combined with a smooth stucco, black window trims, and a gorgeous oak front door is enough to make anyone fall in love. If you’ve been considering a modern farmhouse style for your next home, I hope this one has you convinced! Check out the full home tour over on Becki Owens blog.

Color Blocked Exterior Color Scheme

Color blocking is a major trend in home exteriors right now, just like this gorgeous modern farmhouse
Pure Black | Fresh Popcorn | Crispy Gingersnap

One trend that is huge across all design styles right now is color blocking. The architectural design is accentuated by painting different blocks of your home’s exterior in contrasting colors. Allison Fannin did just that in her most recent new build home. Contrasting deep black with creamy white creates drama and interest, not to mention massive curb appeal. The bright orange wood accents pop out beautifully against the black and white exterior tying the whole design together.

Warm Modern Farmhouse Exterior

This warm exterior is the epitome of modern farmhouse style.
Bleached Linen | True Walnut | Western Charcoal

Now this exterior is the epitome of modern farmhouse style. Warm walnut wood tones, beige painted brick, and dark trims complement the modern lines of this home’s architecture.

Beige Beauty Home Exterior

Milestone | Satin Black | White Truffle

Oh, how I love a painted brick! The absolute easiest way to update your home’s exterior is with paint. If your home’s exterior has an outdated brick facade, you can easily paint it for an updated farmhouse look. This painted beige brick stands out against a black front door, and grey washed shingled roof.

Light and bright Farmhouse Exterior Paint

Frost | Skyline Steel | Onyx Black

While not the most popular choice in window trim color at the moment, white is still a fantastic choice. In this modern farmhouse exterior white window trims are the best choice as they disappear against the white siding. Had they been black I think the home’s exterior would have been too busy. There is quite a lot of detail in this exterior with the light grey window shutters and black metal accents.

Classic Farmhouse With Modern Features

White modern farmhouse with wood tone soffit and dark trims
Nano White | Doeskin Gray | Western Charcoal

There are almost too many things I love about this modern farmhouse exterior. My 2nd favorite thing (first being the pool obviously) is the wood soffits. I’m a huge sucker for a wood soffit and the soft wood tone used on this farmhouse creates the perfect break between the dark trim and white siding. I’m also totally crushing on those black pane windows.

Brown Tone Modern Farmhouse Exterior Paint Color Scheme

Cliff Rock| Bleached Linen | Bricktone

I adore this brown and beige modern farmhouse color scheme. Who ever thought I would be into brown window trim? Never say never folks! The brown accents against the warm beige siding creates warm and inviting curb appeal. If you like how this home looks on the outside, you need to check out the home tour here! The interior of this rustic farmhouse is full of old charm.

Hello Amy! Great question – I’ve personally never painted my home’s exterior, this post is really just meant to inspire some paint color combinations! That being said it all depends on your budget. I generally stick to The Home Depot’s Behr line, but there is no doubt a more expensive paint company like Benjamin Moore has some advantages.
