I love going crazy with bathroom tile, it’s a great opportunity to add a fun splash of color and pattern. While neutral colors are safe, they can be BORING. And life is way too short for boring tile. There are so many accessible and affordable options for fun and creative tiles, all you need is a little bit of inspiration. Sometimes even taking an ordinary white subway tile and laying it in a unique pattern will give your bathroom a little design edge. Lets jump right into some bathroom tile inspiration to jump start your creativity!

1. Cobalt Blue Floor Tile

This stunning bathroom designed by Australia’s Anna Spiro is perfect for the Halycon House, a boutique hotel. With design, style, and comfort at the focus of most boutique hotels you’ll be sure to find inspiration. I am loving the risk they took with this cobalt blue tile flooring. It completely pops and gives the bathroom and electric feeling. Isn’t it funny how bright colors used in the right places can totally energize you? Exactly what I need to jump start my mornings!

2. Black Marble Herringbone Shower

I have been crushing on black bathrooms lately and this one by Ali Budd Interiors takes the cake. The framed black marble herringbone pattern creates a dramatic feature wall in this modern bathroom. The gold fixtures pop SO well against the black, While the white subway walls and white marble hexagon floor tile really lighten up the space. Can you guys believe that this shower alone has four different types of tile? Talk about a brave designer! I’m convinced the white grout is the one thing that ties the while space together, it really accentuates the black herringbone. If you guys are loving this bathroom you need to head on over and check out Ali Budd’s full portfolio. They have a huge array of inspired spaces under their belts and I think they just became my favorite Canadian design house.

3. Budget Friendly Bold Pattern

This transitional bathroom is a fantastic example of getting more bang for your buck. As you can see the majority of the tile used in the shower is an inexpensive white subway tile. But where The Lifestyled Co. splurged was in the flooring. They took a small area of square footage and splurged on a more expensive tile. A great way to get the wow factor while saving some huge coin. They also did such a good job creating interest in the subway tile by laying it vertically up the wall and across the ceiling. LOVE IT!

7. Powerful Pink Bathroom Tile

Millennial pink anyone? YES PLEASE! There is so much to love about this awesome pink tiled shower. Not only is the shower a beautiful pink subway tile, its continued throughout the entire bathroom. Talk about making an impact. The industrial exposed copper pipes throughout provide a much needed casual contrast. And can we talk about that window? Being an apartment dweller (with less natural light than a mushroom farm) I am always SO jealous of bathrooms that get natural light. The window in this shower combined with the wood slat flooring gives a super cool outdoor feeling. Check out the full project here.

8. Modern Grey Herringbone

You should know by now that I love a good herringbone pattern. Fun fact I actually tiled my own shower (with the help of my Dad) in a herringbone pattern. Man is it hard, but SO worth it. The long and skinny concrete tile featured in this bathroom is to die for. I’m loving how the grey tie runs across the floor and up the wall leading your eyes to the black framed mirrors and perfectly matching black light fixture.

9. A Splash Of Yellow

This yellow tiled bathroom is for my Mom (Hi mom, I know you’re reading!) If she could renovate her bathroom I’m sure it would look something like this. This bathroom features a yellow vintage patterned square tile running along the floor and up the back wall of the shower. With everything else in this bathroom white, the yellow tile is the splash of color this space needs. And how perfect is the rustic wood vanity? I love the contrast of textures between the smooth white subway and rustic wood.
